Xmas 2017 – Best Comics for Kids (of all ages)

The title to this blog entry might be misleading because, while these titles are catnip for young ones with a penchant for illustrated stories, even big kids such as myself can enjoy these fun books. Buy them for your children, then read them once they’re in bed. Win-win.

Bone by Jeff Smith and Amulet by Kazu Kibuishi: two classic adventures that will keep readers enthralled (and quiet) for hour (just what parents need during the Holidays).

Ms. Marvel and Lumberjanes: if you’re looking for inspiring books for young girls, look no further than these two titles. And it’s OK for boys to like them too (I certainly do).

Chi’s Sweet Home by Kanata Konami and Owly by Andy Runton: cute animals doing cute things. Who doesn’t love that?

A Wrinkle in Time (graphic novel): written by Madeleine L’Engle, adapted and illustrated by Hope Larson

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz: written by L. Frank Baum, adapted by Eric Shanower, and illustrated by Skottie Young

Two classics that beg to be rediscovered in these fabulous comic book formats. Enjoy!
