My Top 5: James Bond Themes

The new theme for the upcoming James Bond movie “Skyfall” has just come out. I’ve had a listen and, although there’s no denying Adele’s talent, the song itself is forgettable.

There have been numerous more memorable themes to the James Bond franchise throughout the years. These are My Top 5 :

5. “A view to a kill”, performed by Duran Duran A great opening song to one of the least memorable James Bond films ever (for me at least).

4. “Nobody does it better”, performed by Carly Simon Roger Moore was the James Bond I grew up with, and The Spy Who Loved Me was my favorite Bond movie starring The Saint.

3. “Thunderball”, performed by Tom Jones One of my all time favorite Bond films. And the theme is sung by no other than Mr. Sex Bomb himself.

2. “You Know My Name”, performed by Chris Cornell This theme is in my list of songs I play at the gym to pump me up. It never fails to get me going.

1. It’s a tie! My #1 selection is a bit of a cheat. I simply could not decide between these two outstanding compositions. So without futher ado, here are my picks for the #1 spot :

Goldfinger, performed by Shirley Bassey

Live and Let Die, performed by Paul McCartney and Wings
