You don’t need to be a financial wizard to understand that the global economy is having a rough time. And if you look at the headlines, it doesn’t look like thing will get better any time soon.

It would be too simple to put all the blame exclusively on the shoulders of the two standard bugaboos : fear and greed. Although these evils seem to have been the main reasons for the 2008 financial crisis, we are in a whole new ballpark now.

With countries and their citizens indebted up to their eyeballs, everyone will have to realize that the situation will not get any better if we simply ignore it and carry on as if everything was peachy. We will all have to take a hard look at the way we do business and live our lives, and make some major adjustments if we want things to improve.
